I saw that listing and wondered why they singled out MGs; you can say the same thing about any affordable British car from that period -- MG, Triumph, Austin-Healey, Morris, etc.

Our "service writer" at work is a Ford guy. No big deal, except for one of the tech's we're Chevy guys, the other guy is a Mopar dude.... I made a crack about Ford's products, that day all our bays were filled with Blue Ovals. The "service writer" makes a crack at me about BMW's. He was miffed that I didn't get pissed and called BMW guys "Sweater vest wearing pukes".

I'm no fan of most E36,34,38,46,90 types. They seem to be 2nd or 3rd owners who like to "front" and complain about how much parts and labor cost.

I'm down with e34 types, I've had 4 and I'm starting to get that itch again. I probably would complain about parts/labor if I went to stealer too.

And I've always laughed at the numbers matching crowd. My 68 Barracuda has a 69 block 340, the 72+ cooling system, 73+ front suspension, a rear diff from a 69 Charger, 17x11 wheels. Yeah, the numbers crowd don't like my Cuda very much. :D

How many boring chevys and fords are we gonna see on the streets? thats what got me into mopars as a kid, nobody had em, nobody knew what my car was (66 charger) and there was a kind of pride in spending more time/spending more money finding parts for a dodge.

              Screw these guys
I'm a mopar man as well. My dream is a Hemi swapped wrangler....but anyway thought the article was cool. Because they hate we know were doing something right! :-)

I think its quite opposite, I always try to nod or say a friendly whatup to any bimmer newer than a 2000, even modified e92's. They just look in my direction, like wtf is that thing?

Dude 04 WRX still cost close to 15k. I don't know what type of suspension you are running but I doubt it is to the tune of 12k +. Jussayin

I was going to post that I rather agreed with the article, since I've met some real assholes in the mopar scene......but you pretty much nailed it: the numbers-matching, every-bolt-has-to-be-date-coded, concourse whores are the real problems. I appreciate a properly restored car, but the mopar guys are the ones who are the most anal when it comes to what other people should be "allowed" to do with their cars.

As far as brand-warring, I had a 72 Charger that was always mistaken for a "nice GTO"............that always annoyed the hell out of me. :p

There's kind of a bunch of different "camps" in the Mopar world. The #'s matching guys, the hot rodders, the FWD guys, and then the truck guys. I can see the matching numbers guys point of veiw. The hot rodders where they dont really care, and they aint really stuck on themselfs. The FWD guys are just different and cheap asses lol. Even more cheaper then you guys here on r3v!!! Now the truck guys are kind of :/ they seem like its Dodge or nothing... They seem like they have their nose in the air about anything else. And yes i DD a Dodge Ram. But dear god, most Ram guys need to get off their high horse.

Buddy of mine bought two in the past three years for 5k with no rust and both run amazing.

Valved Koni, GC coils, GC camber plates, GC tower mounts, Custom adjustable rear subframe, every bushing is replaced with AKG polly.

I will have about 3k into my BBS RS after they are PC'd

I hate bmw owners who buy the latest and greatest - even though they know nothing about their cars...or even driving in general - because it's a status symbol. This primarily applies to teens with dad's money, yuppies who can't really afford the car, and sometimes older people...but enough with the unfair generalizations.

I think it was unfair that he threw e30 and 2002 owners under the bus. There are some e30 pricks out there, but for the most part, i thought we were alright. And like it was mentioned in a thread floating around in this forum, the 2002 crowd is pretty cool.
