I've seen people around here (HUGE ski town) try this before, and no matter how many coats they do, how much flex agent, it always gets destroyed.
to many coats is the problem. they probably also sprayed their base then cleared over it. i did mine a little different. i sprayed single stage black and wet sanded it with 400. then cleared. the clear will hold a lot better then if i just sprayed traditional bc/cc. i read something online about doing it like that. the clear has something to bite into. it will be interesting to see. i'll try to remember to post here after the first time i go.

Exactly. It just won't hold up. Vinyl wrap would work better but it still won't last to long before damage.

I could totally get some e30 stomp pads made. Only problem is lead time. Maybe for next season. Can I have permission to make r3v stomp pads?

it should be nice when done. its sitting in the corner of my room waiting for the stickers. its just black single stage right now. wet sanded with 600 then a scuff pad. i think the clear should hold up fairly well. i've taken bumpers off of cars at work during winter and they flex and they don't crack. i can also sand a buff every year. i'll def get some pics up just waiting on the stickers. got some from stickyshirts.com and one from a random person on ebay.

pics of board when done man!

oh and leash ftmw! seen way to many boards get loose from retards being...retarded
The only time I've ever seen a board let go was when someone was riding it like a sled. In such a situation people usually don't have their leash on. This is after boarding for hundreds of days. I seriously have never seen a runaway board for any other reason. How many boards have you ever seen get loose really?

Moving along...AWESOME THREAD! 1st of all an E30 stomp pad has to fucking happen, I'm gonna brainstorm a bit.

2nd thing, modding snowboards....totally hadn't thought of that. I wonder if they flex enough to crack paint...I think that added to the freezing temps means paint will inevitably crack but I def wanna do a nice high gloss paint job on one of my boards. Which one though....Hrmm... Maybe i'll bondo the shitty chunked up square edges on my santacruz and do that one. Although I kinda like it cuz it has real wood showing through....decisions decisions.
