Onetime I thought I had a huge wiring issue with the fuel pumps. I spent 12 hours tracking down why I didn't have the right voltage.

Turned out my positive battery cable was a little loose....

Drained diff fluid and started tighten up other stuff and undercoating car. Bolted up diff and went for a ride. No diff fluid. Lesson learned.....take my time and double check work.

Forgot to tighten the lug nuts on one wheel. Drove 11 mi. to the alignment shop and heared a strange noise. Told the mechanic and he told me, "what are you trying to sue me? Your front wheel lug bolts are loose." The wheel was literally about to fall off. Good times.

          trying to tune my AFM.

If that wasn't dumb enough, It stalled and the only way to get it home was with a friends powered wheelchair.

I had a similar misshap, painted my AFM since it was nasty, put it all back in the car and went to bed, woke up, started driving to work and car was sputtering and dying, engine check light was on. Forgot to plug the damn thing in.

Just because a battery looks new does not mean it is. I spent hours researching how to trace a electric drain. Did all the homework and hit the car like a mad man with everything I needed. Did the first step and realized there were no mystery draws. It just needed a new battery. WOW, I felt dumb. I had been dealing with the issue for 2 months thinking the problem was much bigger than it really was. Two times I had to call for a jump and no telling how many times I put it on a charger so I could go for a drive.

Crashed my e46 that had a MAF. Didnt require the airbox to be attached to the car to run it.

Then bought my e30 and changed the fuel filter. Removed the intake, replaced the fuel filter, and failed to remember that the airbox contained the air meter. I spend a solid 10 Min cranking the car before i realized my mistake.

Needless to say, the car shot raw fuel out of the exhaust for like three 50 foot accelerations.

Spent some good money rebuilding a 4hp22. Then tried to put it in without a trans jack. Tried to use the nuts to torque it into place... Cracked the new fluid pump and rendered my new trans useless.

Car wouldnt rev past 4K RPM after replacing all timing chain components. Took half of it apart, everything was fine. Spent entire day on a lift replacing everything fuel related. Then took my buddies spare CPS and it was like brand new... wasted so much time and money on it :(

Mine was way back in high school when having sub-woofers was a must. I removed my system for some reason but left the power wires for the amp connected to the battery. So I drove around for quite some time with exposed heavy gauge wires flopping around my trunk. Finally they made contact with the metal seat back wall and my car over-heated, fried the battery and the alternator. Left me stuck like 50km away from home lol. Funny, cause I could have sworn I knew everything in high school.

Removed the head and header from my m52b28 swap. Then installed the head without the header. (Stainless ebay rep) due to clearances, I had to pull the header studs, thusly damaging them, and had to buy new ones to put the header back on. Fml.

One of the first things i did to my car when i got it was install a kick panel. Needless to say, installed it wrong. While driving one day, my foot caught the kickpanel, kickpanel came down and pushed the clutch while i had my foot on the gas. Redlined the car for a good 2 seconds and scared the fuck out of me.
