Don't fool yourselves into thinking BMW hasn't always been about the 'same sausage, different lengths' design language. Hell look at the E30 and E34, or the E38 and E39.

It's not even about preference towards 80's cars. My girlfriend who doesn't know shit about cars thinks the new bimmers are boring as fuck. We pulled up to a stop light and one of these new 3s pulled up, and just to be a bitch and express how serious she was about this she stuck her head out to the guy in the bimmer and said "I LIKE YOUR FORD FUSION!!!"
