    Stolen parts ALERT M42 engine, etc

    M42 engine, G240 5-speed, dual-mass flywheel, 318is A/C compressor were stolen on 10-21-2011 in Durham, NC. ALERT.

      sucks, check craigslist I guess. There have been instances where NC r3v members (ahem forumla1driver or something) have stolen from others...

                Yes, brandon. I was about to put this in the 75 chassis I bought from you last summer (floor panels replaced). It sucks.

                      I'd be willing to bet someone picked it up for scrap. People around here will pick up anything if they think they can get away with saying they thought it was junk and they were just "cleaning up"....


                      But yeah, I saw the CL ad too- but the ad seemed legit since the guy is also selling a complete '91 318is with blown motor. He said he bought the engine to fix the car with, but he now doesn't have the time or place to fix it.

                      Would be worth a phone call to the seller to see if his story makes sense.

                        That is not my engine, but many thx for watching out for me. I just don't have time to visit each and every scrap/junk yard around RDU area, will try insurance see if I can get anything back (I doubt it) I have the VIN # of the engine and police report and the contact info of the gentleman I got the parts from.
