Opinions on the e28?

I have an M535i. Love it to fucking death. It's a beautiful car that always attracts a lot of attention and it drives magnificently too. The level of comfort and refinement are far beyond that of an E30 - but you must of course be aware that they are completely different cars. The E28 is an amazing grand tourer. On fast, flowing roads, there's nothing better and that's where the chassis and M30 come together perfectly.

With a competent steerer, they're not to be sneezed at on the track either. My car is completely standard, but I'm faster in it than others in much faster, modern BMW's. Last track day out I was quite pleased to see I was half a second faster than an E92 M3!

In summary, go forth with an open mind and take one for a nice, long test drive. One of two things will happen. You'll either fall in love with it and buy it....or you won't.

This. Drive many of the cars. Holds four adults, huge trunk. Luxurious. Sadly, no vert option.

E28s in euro trim are awesome.

E28 has got the best comfort seats ever. Rear seat is awesomely comfy too! Huge trunk, rides awesome. Euro is a plus. Drop a nice B35 in there with M5 clutch and flywheel and a 3.73 LSD diff and they're pretty damn quick.

Also....nab a nice 535 and not some eta and there's no timing belt. 3.4 liters of German mid 80's fury under the hood is awesome. They can be raw, but yet civilized. I like the styling of the body too. I am pretty biased as it was my first BMW in high school and I had to work on it to get to school and work, but it was a blast, even when it was an auto w/B34.
