How do you guys source rare parts? (M-tech I)

Hey guys...I've been looking for an M-tech I front spoiler for a while now (i also want the other pieces, but don't think I can afford it all at once if i happen across it), and I was wondering how you guys find parts like these.

Aside from gutenparts and searching the forums for people selling these parts, it seems nearly impossible to come by.

I looked at ddmtuning.com's site and they say that they can order the part, but i'm very very skeptical, seeing as how it's NLA. Is it possible? Does BMW Germany have old parts stockpiled in some warehouse?

Anyway...please help. I want the part, but can't find it.

    Thanks

I need a full M-Tech I kit as well. From what I've read it seems the only way to get legit parts is to take them off another car. They are NLA. There are replicas, but I'm not sure about their quality.

I looked into dtm fiberwerkz, but I'm reluctant to drop money on something that I'm pretty sure won't fit right.

I actually bought the OEM piece from them that they used to make all the replicas, and the original was slightly warped. And so when I saw the reps, they were all warped too. I don't think fiberglass will shape right into place like the OEM plastic would.
However, I was strapped for cash some time ago and so I sold it...

And I haven't been able to find any reviews and pics of that specific kit from anyone! Have you?

DTM fiberwerkz takes a lot of extra fitting, normally a body shop. Ask some of the european guys also.

I just call Guten Parts and Levent finds it somehow.

If Levent can't get it, then it can't be got.

M tech stuff is to big to ship through the regular mail, so usually the shipping costs more that the kit unfortunately.

If you have cash, everything is possible.

watch ebay uk... talk to the sellers to see if they're able to ship oversea's.

damn. i guess it's just a waiting game.
I've only ordered crosshairs from Levent, but he's been very accommodating.

I know someone in Germany, but likewise...shipping's gonna be a PITA. I feel like it'd be cheaper to piggyback on one of Levent's bigger shipments.

someone posted mtech1 skirts in the for sale section recently.

I bought mine from another member on east coast, they arrived just fine.
Front valance and rear came from ebay, front one all the way from UK.

Yeah, it's not new so no tax/customs, I would think anyway.

Lufthansa does Cargo so you can bring it along if you fly with them. Just check on the specifics before hand.

When I moved to Germany, I naturally wanted to bring my dog along. Besides the medical checkup and Rabies Titer and chip, she needed flight accomodations as well. If I sent her alone without me on the flight it would've been $1200!!!! But I had to come back only 6weeks after moving their for personal business, so I flew Lufthansa on the way back. It only cost me about $150 b/c she weighed(with carrier) only as much as (2) extra pcs of luggage, which at that time, was a 70lb limit per extra pc. Now it's 50lbs, so be prepared to pay a bit more.
