A little car troubles on this fine Friday morning..

I leave my house..and as soon as I'm going my gas just stops. The car is still on but the gas just stops..I can put it back into 1st and accelerate got a second and then it does it again. It did it to me yesterday on the free way cruising at 80..the gas just stopped. Input, suggestions, help..please

Define "gas just stops". You mean the Fuel cuts? Does the engine stop?

Yeah the fuel cuts..the engine is still on but im not accelerating. It happens when the cars hot and cold. Could it be the fuel pump or filter?

Those damn crank sensors LOL. Check your pumps and filter. Check out any power wires to make sure theyre not rubbing on anything. I had a clip let loose and the battery wire dropped just low enough to hit the block. Oh and check your ground strap for the motor.
I need your obd1 parts! Harness intake ecu etc.

Thanks guys for the trouble shooting ideas. It's my only car and I needed to go to work..so I took it to my mechanic. It did the thing all the way to his shop. As soon as he drove it it was fine! I was so mad. I'm gunna have to take a look at the fuel pump/filter tomorrow

does it only do it when it's warm outside? had a problem with my 325es where it would loose all power like a fuel shut off but if you goosed the engine while driving she would pick back up again. if it happened at a light it would stall and need a restart but she always did. replaced with used but known working parts.

don't know which part did it cause i did em all at once and hasen't had a problem since.
                        hope this helps.

Throtlle position sensor. It just stops accelerating? But the motor still runs, id say thats not a fuel delivery problem...

My vote is crank position sensor. Do you have any trouble starting it sometimes?
