    GPS recommendation?

So I'm between the Germin nuvi 50lm and Tom Tom VIA 1505. They both have lifetime map upgrades and have a 5" screen and are with $10 of each other. I've used both Garmins and Tom Toms before and they are both decent. Anyone have a reason to go for one or the other?

My Garmin has worked well for me and the 10 countries I've used it in. I think it's all really personal preference.

When I had to call them for support for a pretty weird issue (my own doing) their support wasn't outsourced overseas (which shocked me) and their support staff really knew their products and how to help get my Garmin back up and running.

Not too shabby for something that I spent $120 on.

Agreed. Garmin=Garbage... RECALCULATING, RECALCULATING, RECALCULATING. :( My favorite is when it tells me to make turns when there isn't even an off-ramp or place to make a turn (like the middle of the freeway @ 75mph).

My Garmin failed after a bootleg software update. Garmin sent me a new one free of charge no questions asked. Id buy another for that reason alone.. Oh yeah It was 1 year out of warranty also
