      i know that the m40's here in europe have a problem w/ cams breaking in two,.. maybe bavarian bimmer will chime in on this one?

        i had a m3 cam snap in my old m50. only came up with 2 possibilities, either a. the guy who changed it didn't use the holding tool, or b. he overtorqued that cap closest to the break point.

          Yes she does "race" too. Took her just 4 DE's to move up to the Advanced run group.
          I work at a hotel - no guests, no work ;) It's a nice setup.

            The engine was still put together when it broke - in fact, it was running in 5th gear at around 3500 rpm at 75 mph on the Mass pike ;)

            Just a strange "weak point" you know? I'd have expected the valves to give first or something.
