hate to be a stick in the mud..but it could be alot of car's......
some of these responses are retarded.
there is no 73 R.......
it appears to be a pre 74 on quick glance..early mirrors....
but .....it has rear flares and flares did not come on ANY US cars 73 and earlier.........they only came on the RS and then on SC's..but even between these 2 cars the flares differed a bit. And even if an expert could say what flare it was from..both real rs flairs and later sc types are avail to buy and graft on!
it also has an RS style duck tail...w/ plexiglass lip....crazy.
it could be a post 73 car that was "Backdated".....!..like a 78 sc....or an 84 carrera...etc...they had oe rear flares.
so it is impossible to say for sure regardless of what any 1 says
for sure..it is a car to be made to look like an early flared car...like an RS...or its a real flared early car.....a 2.7 RS
and it could be a 912....if not a 911
for tonsa pics like that...join pelican forums.....or the early911sregistry.org
Just wondering....what is it about that car you like?...there are alot of kick ass 911 based cars there......
Its definitely a pre '80...the front/side window seals are chrome. Also my bet is that the flares are grafted on....they look slightly bigger than the oem Carrera RS flares or anything else of the time. Also the car is cut off so you can't tell if the ducts are at the bottom or not. Its probably just an early 911 modified to race....some sort of basic 911 shell with added bits and pieces bolted on to make it go faster/handle better/look like a racier car.
I typed 1971 for the mirror change but I do believe you're right that 1973 was the year.
Anyway, here are 2 pics of an early Porsche getting RS style fender flares.
you really cant say its a pre 80..tho it could be. About everything on these tubs are interchangeable....look at the no.66 to its right....same rear flare but blk window trim. So many of these "track" cars are just puzzled together.
