    can i run 93 octane on a 91 chip?

would there be any negative side effects to running a higher octane then the amount the chip recommends? i only ask because i drive an ETA and the chips i find say "runs on 91 octane" havent found one for ETA that rec. 93. but where i live its a big gap, 87 89 93 octane. would it limit the performance of the chip to use 93 or worse damage it?

    meh..
I'm in a similar boat.. I run 93 if no other alternative is available. While it may not be optimal - I don't think it's a big deal.
After looking around a bit - I found bp stations close to me offer 91..

pretty much every gas station i find on fort benning is 93. im sure i can find some a bit off of base but the surrounding neighborhoods a bit sketchy. just was hoping it wouldnt be a big deal so i wouldnt have to drive 20 minutes to get gas

It won't be a big deal at all. You just won't be making full use of the gasoline you have in your car.

          You will be fine.

The more Octane the fuel has the more advance on the timing you can get. So 91 or 93 will have the same performance just don't use a lower octane rating, then specified, that may result in pre-detination and a fucked engine.

Yep, will be fine. I actually have the opposite problem; 93 octane chip and being forced to use 91 sometimes, though very rarely.
