would there be any negative side effects to running a higher octane then the amount the chip recommends? i only ask because i drive an ETA and the chips i find say "runs on 91 octane" havent found one for ETA that rec. 93. but where i live its a big gap, 87 89 93 octane. would it limit the performance of the chip to use 93 or worse damage it?
can i run 93 octane on a 91 chip?

meh..
I'm in a similar boat.. I run 93 if no other alternative is available. While it may not be optimal - I don't think it's a big deal.
After looking around a bit - I found bp stations close to me offer 91.. -
It won't be a big deal at all. You just won't be making full use of the gasoline you have in your car.Comment

Yep, will be fine. I actually have the opposite problem; 93 octane chip and being forced to use 91 sometimes, though very rarely.Comment
