I believe you can find 318is's and less commonly other E30's without a sunroof which provides a little more head room.

Im 5 11. I barely fit in the pass seat in my brothers s2k. I took it to the club ome night and found an amazon chick. 6' 5" but big ass. She didnt fit I had to drop the top. At that point driving with the top down in 30 degree weather was justified. Awesome sex and head.....back on track. never realized how many giants drive e30s

it's called a Gurney bubble...since Dan Gurney (6'3") couldn't fit in the GT-40 comfortably. Prius also uses them because they help with aero drag.
