Literally THOUSANDS of people see the license plates on your car every day. Tell me how seeing it on the internet is ANY different.

Yes, but there are sites that allow you to enter a plate number and find tons of somebodies personal information. I'm not paranoid enough to blur mine though.

Just got done blurring mine on a bunch of photos. I do it just as a precaution. You can easily find where a car is register with the plate number so I'd rather not have that all over the interwebs.

People see your build threads, and see all the parts that have gone into the car. If they recognize it on the street it's more likely to get stolen. Sorry to say it.


Of course, if you have a POS E30, don't worry about it ;)

Alot of information is on that number. People have access to a database with the cars DMV history, has access to other information about you as well.

Because the army of elite, MIT-trained computer hackers employed by the international syndicate of exotic car theives are constantly trolling the internet looking for $500 rust-bucket E30s to steal.

Once they see your license plate...it's all over.

That's what I thought. And the other thing is that my life would probably improve overall if my E30's disappeared overnight.

But seriously, its not so much about the protection of the car, as the amount of info you can get off a variety of websites. However, I still never blur mine. Too lazy
