Irelandd engineering brakes * danger ***** failure eminent

i just had a ireland 310mm kit fail on me. it took out my strut housing and distroyed the caliper. the bracket that holds on the caliper shattered and twisted their adapter backet like a pretzel. i have already recived his new and improved adapter brakets after bending his old flat plate ones. These new ones were apparently bent as well, i checked the other side and it showed similar results. So far he said he wont help me out at all and ill be updating this if he does but please if your running these brakes be careful and check your adapter brakets for twisting. If it is bent do not drive the car it will brake something somewhere.

Untill now I have nothing but great things to say about jeff and his crew last time I had a problem he got everything sent to me asap and was cool about it but now he wont do a thing.

        Sucks man.

I've been waving the 'just say no to IE' flag for a long time, although I've been pretty quiet about it on the 'net just out of respect for his business. Jeff is a good guy, but they cut a lot of corners with their products. Good luck getting it sorted out.

I totaly agree ive been a customer of theres for a while now and jeff saying it aint my fault if your strut got messed up does not cut it for me. I'm just looking out for everyone on this, ive supported them for a while and loved the kit but it just dont cut it for me anymore i guess

Unfortunately I have to jump on here and agree with you guys. I run IE springs, sway bars, and 330x28mm front and 310x20mm rear brake setups.

First of all, we all know the service problems they have, which is understandable with a company that small and a large demand.

I love their springs and sways, but I must say that their brake kits are a complete joke and it was apparent to me that it was of poor quality and dependability upon receipt and install.

Their brackets are insulting and the calipers are cheap. The kits are so poor, in fact, that I have basically ditched everything. I ended up picking up some twin piston fixed brembo calipers and had a custom bracket made for use on the rear 310mm rotors.

As for the front, I'm ditching it soon. It's still on the car, and functions well, actually, aside from unwanted caliper feedback and chatter and my lack of faith of those brackets. I have a much better custom setup utilizing all brembo components that's in the works.

Granted, IEs brakes improved all aspects of my braking over the stock system, but in the end, it was the deal breaker that caused me to never buy from IE ever again. The calipers aren't horrible, just cheap, but the brackets really are a joke. They cut every corner available on all their brakes.

Also, Jeff knows a lot obviously, but is horrible to deal with. For my NUMBEROUS brake kit problems (brackets, hats, rotors, virtually every aspect), I always dealt with Jeremy. He was accomodating, but I wasn't able to install my brake kits until almost a year after paying for them. That time frame is just completely unacceptable.

Get some pics of the mangled parts. I want to see what broke.

That's kinda scary, what sort of usage does your car see competition wise, just autox stuff?

We need not mention the cat-back group buy fiasco.

The only thing I've bought from them was a strut brace... It was complete garbage... They did give me a refund, but considering how easy it is to make a strut brace I wouldn't trust them with anything else.

What was wrong with the strut brace? It seems like a very simple part. How could it have been garbage? fitment? quality?

I got in on the first GB for the exhaust, no problems.
However, I later dealt with Jeremiah for some suspension parts. Apparently they have a guy in shipping named Jeremy who doesn't comprehend the meaning of a shipping address. I had not one, not two, but three shipping oopsies in a row. Needless to say once I got the parts I sent them right back and got my money back.

What is the caliper bracket made of? Aluminum? Maybe it is meant to be run with brake ducts. :?
