    91 318is warning lights

I lost the cover plate on the warning light module above the mirror. The third light down is the SRS. The top one came on yesterday sporadically and caused the audible alarm each time it did. Anyone know what it is warning me about?

Are you saying that the light with the gong is the seat belt warning light? I have racing seats in the car, and I think the seat belt switch is not connected. However, the wiring could be shorting out to something. Because the cover plate of the display is gone, I have no clue what the warning light is for. The light is coming on accompanied by the gong at sporadic intervals while driving.

Haha! Me either. I'm fairly certain there are lights for seat belts and SRS. Is it dinging because the outside temp is near freezing? If so your OBC will automatically switch from time to temp and the ˚F will be flashing. I'm going to dig out my owner's manual and look this up.

Assuming your car is originally a US market car, my money would be on the seatbelt timer becoming senile.
