Lack of interest on the dead pedal? Check your pics of the installed examples. A nice looking solo dead pedal sticks out like a sore thumb with OEM rubber clutch, brake and accelerator pedals. Make a complete matching set and I bet you'll get some interest. Just my 2 cents.

    Although

    Working on:
RSM reinforcement plates - this already is availalbel from BMW on the cheap. Don't waist your time
    3mm and 5mm spacers - yes
Engraved door handles - RobertK already does these on here and he's had cancer. Do you really want to take business from THAT guy?
Rear strut braces - some members on here already make them but a better performing/looking product is always welcome
Door sills (mtech style) - LOVE IT
Dead Pedals - Not for me but love the look

    Thinking about:
Sway Bars - If your going to get into this then make affordable. Convertible is out there for an upgrade so to speak
Exhaust systems - YES - Stromung doesn't make e30 ones anymore to my knowledge and they sounded awesome
Mid sections - Maybe - with a exhaust shop and fabircator on every corner you might be undercut a lot
Supercharger brackets - Maybe -so many people go Turbo here when it comes to FI. They have been made here before by a forum membor but ahving a steady for sure place to get them from might be worthwhile

Thanks for the post and input.

On making products that already exist. The goal for us is to offer things of better or equal quality for less than the competition. Made in the USA.

On exhaust work. Catback systems are a no brainer. There has to be interest though. Exhaust shops and fabricators, MAY be more cost effective... but unless you find a good one you are not getting your money's worth in the least bit. We all have been there. And known good fabricators are just as expensive. The real question is... how much would a mid section from us cost?

On the door handles. From what I've seen lately, all door handle sales on here, e30tech, and s14.net have come to a halt (for a while now). What we are working on is of a different approach than what has been done, which will hopefully allow us to offer something a little different.

Engraved door handles: I think if you offered them with powdercoating options, it might be more viable.

    Rear strut braces: Yes please!

Door sills (mtech style): eh, no comment.

    Thinking about:
Sway Bars :Another issue of there being tons of competent kits out, UUC, and IE come to mind.
Exhaust systems: I would absolutely be thrilled with that -- but are you planning on supporting M42 cars at all? I don't trust any muffler shop within 100 miles, and I can't find anything online that isn't $600.
    Mid sections: See above
Supercharger brackets: You could probably have a market with brackets that relocate the alternator to the A/C position and put a Rotrex in the Alt. position.

Here's my take on your list:

    RSM reinforcement plates - I wouldn't bother
    3mm and 5mm spacers - definitely
Engraved door handles - cool, but I wouldn't wanna poach RobertK's business
Rear strut braces - Do it.
Door sills (mtech style) - Do it.
Dead Pedals - Do it (especially if you do matching pedals too)

    Thinking about:
Sway Bars - Sure, I'd be interested
Exhaust systems - Definitely interested in a better sounding than stock, relatively inexpensive option
Mid sections - If you can price it low enough to compete with muffler shops and make a profit then go for it. I'd rather support an e30 community guy than a muffler shop
Supercharger brackets - Does anyone really use a supercharger? It'd be great if anyone was interested in superchargers but I dono if the interest is there.

What I'm most interested in right now though is for someone to streamline the rear sump conversion for us lowered 24V folks.

Whether shorty or massaged SS reps, **reasonably priced** 24V headers that will clear the subframe. I think that's a niche where you can dominate quickly.

I would be interested in a rear strut brace designed like the sparco front brace. Where the bar is BETWEEN the shock towers not on top. I think mason makes one like this.

Its been discussed. We can even get the manifolds cast. If there is interest we can make whatever you guys want.

HA. Well hopefully, the lack of interest in the dead pedals is just a result of people not actually seeing that thread. Also, thanks for posting. Keep em coming.

  • What does the E30 Community want? |Euwerks Engineering|

So... I am a bit surprised at the lack of interest in our dead pedals over at the retail classified section.

Maybe I was wrong, and no one really cares about dead pedals. Maybe the retail section doesn't get as much traffic. Maybe they are not cheap enough. Maybe a pre-order scares people away. Maybe 15 pre-orders is too much.

Over the last week I've been thinking about starting a thread to see what the online e30 community is actually interested in as consumers. As tuners have moved on to the newer and more profitable BMW's, all the cool old school stuff for our cars is either NLA, really expensive, or both.

What I want Euwerks Engineering to accomplish is bring back some of that cool stuff. We think that through a different and more innovative approach, we can keep manufacturing in the USA (instead of China), and deliver quality made stuff at an affordable price.

Having said that, I'd like to leave the floor open to some opinions. Also, here are two lists of things we are working on and things we are thinking about working on.

    Working on:
    RSM reinforcement plates
    3mm and 5mm spacers
    Engraved door handles
    Rear strut braces
    Door sills (mtech style)
    Dead Pedals

    Thinking about:
    Sway Bars
    Exhaust systems
    Mid sections
    Supercharger brackets
Working...
