It's actually about the same as with the e36 engines, m5x/s5x.

i think he ment from the turbo tho, but i don't think that would add that much weight.

I was comparing apple to apples. non-turbo to non-turbo.
Turbo adds a significant amount of weight (and complication) to the worst place no matter what engine it's on.
I will always choose NA over turbo but that's just my opinion.

Because it is not to much heavier then an m10 (78lbs heavier with 45 more hp), and has more potential... they also only cost about $300 bucks.

                    m30 is bigger and heavier.

And to those of you who think you know a lot and say mr2peak is wrong, I have news for you. He is not. The m30 would require more fab work, and is heavier then the m20. To fit an m30 you would need to cut out the rad support and do fire wall modifications along with trans tunnel mods. Depending on the gear box, diff, and radiator you end up using you can drop a m20 into your 2002 with no modification to the rad support, drive shaft, or fire wall/trans tunnel.

                    m10 2.0 180lb and 125hp
m20 2.5 258lb and 170hp (78lb more then an m10, and with a few mods you can be up in the 200hp range easy)
                    m30 3.0 315lb and 185-208hp (135lb more then an m10)

Keep in mind that when you do a m20 swap in a 2002 you get rid of the steering pump and air con unit along with all the smog stuff which sheds a really good amount of weight!!!
With some mods like a cam, head work and bottom end work, large AFM or MAF conversion, a lighter fly wheel, some larger injectors, and a good tune you can make more then 208hp easy with a motor that is 57lb lighter then the m30.
2002's are really light cars and 200+ hp in them is a really nice amount of power.

That depends on where the engine is in the chassis and where the chassis has been lightened.

My stock "68 2002 had 56/44 F to R balance and im pretty sure i will be able to achieve that or better with my M30 powered one.

I have removed 5 lbs off the block alone (unused lugs, etc) not to mention all the weight that will come off the crank, rods, flywheel, 'glass hood, batt. on opposite end of the car, plus some other tricks i've got planned.

We will see what can be done.
