I've had my main E30 since my dad bought it new in 1991. Since then, I've owned a bunch of new and used cars including multiple BMWs (1-owner E30 iX, used E28 535is, new E36 323is), a new Civic (what a POS), and a couple of Benzes (1-owner 560SL, used 190E 2.3-16). They've all come and gone...and I couldn't care less.
I've always held onto the E30 because it's so much fun to drive. The only car that gives me the same feeling is the 'Cossie. I'll keep both cars unless/until they're totalled.
BTW, the only car I've ever regretted selling is that 325iX. I bought it from the original owner, a BMW CCA life member and university professor. Came with full service history from the dealer (the guy was a nut). It was sold to fund the purchase of the Evo III back in 2003. I still miss that iX.sigpic

'02s are awesome, but the E30 has just enough modern features (ABS, 4-wheel disc brakes, PS, air-con, central locking, Motronic) plus rust protection to make it a no-compromise choice for day-to-day use.sigpic
