It won't replace your e30 but I love my e39. You do have to count on higher maintenance costs but I have never thought of my car as unreliable in any way. Nice smooth ride, good performance, great looks...not really any downsides to owning one. Cooling system should be done and any used car will probably need suspension checked out but for a daily it is perfect.
