Sounds like a hell of a deal to me!

And just for future reference I thought up the best question to ask a seller in person.

What's their favourite memories in the car?

I'm about to sell my car and while I was cleaning it up I was thinking about all the good times I had in it and then I was like damn, the best times I've ever had in all my cars were when I was running the shit out of those cars, things a buyer would never want to hear like blowing out the tranny driving through a blizzard on a mountain, or getting about three feet of air in a 95 maxima with 10 people inside...

Good luck with the car though!

also to fix that: park your car nose down hill and pour some 10w 30 down your exhaust pipe...

Go for it, especially if it's a nice color with solid paint and a dent free (that isn't true btw, look harder. maybe no big dents, but there will be dents) body...

oh and yes, no matter what you ask, assume they're lying.

Has the car ever been used as a set for adult films?

If it comes down to swapping an engine, I'm all game. As of of now, the offer is at 650 and the car is supposed to be running. Its a 90 325is with the supposed bad cylinder, and timing belt. The clutch an tires are good. And the body is dent free. Should I take the leap of faith? If I were to swap an engine, how pricey would that be?

depending on it's condition then it doesn't seem too bad. Engine swaps out of later BMW's are extremely common, and there is a ton of info on them on this site if it interests you.

Go for it and let the games begin. Seriously if you have patience and are willing to work through problems you will at a minimum gain an education and possibly a cool car. Hope you have reliable transportation until it is driveable and be prepared to invest in some tools and learn to use them otherwise expect to cry when you get repair quotes.
