I love my MKV. GIAC chipped, a few other light mods, and its fast as hell, still gets 30+mpg on the highway if I'm not boosting 19lbs the whole way. Interior is quality, and its low maintenance. I was in the same boat daily driving my e30. Spent all my spare time on the weekends fixing the minor issues that would pop up during the week.

I would not hesitate to buy a nice TDi wagon and slam it. Might go that route after we have our baby.

The only VW I'd ever buy again is one with a TDI in it.

I had one years ago and hated it, it is def. not what everyone hypes it up to.

with the 15"BBS wheels on it, it would get over 600miles to a tank of fuel. other than that, it sucked like all VWs do.
and the seats are the crappiest things ever- only good for giving you a backache!

with that all said, go buy the VW.
