e90 325i problems...

alright im working on an E90 325i, the girl brough it to us and said someone jumped the battery backwards, now the car wont rev above idle. the throttle body seems to work fine and were not exactly sure if this problem was caused by the jump or if was havign the problem before...


any help would be great! TIA

probably one of the worst things to do in an e90. I wouldn't be surprised if she fried a couple of computers on board

read it and weep (about an e60 but similar principal on 3 series starting with e90s)

check in the ecu box, there is a 30 amp fuse for the throttlebody. ecu box is on the pas. side under the incabin filter tray (under the hood)

half of that stuff in that writeup and comments is the biggest load of crap I have ever heard. I personally work for BMW's roadside assistance. I jump cars daily.-- yes, a battery change needs to be registered on cars with an IBS (intelligent battery sensor) but jump starting a BMW will not hurt it.

If that fuse is o.k. try to erase the faults, and reset all the saved values in the ECU.

Ill check the 30 amp again I don't remember it being blown, I also checked the ecu and it seemed fine! I'm sure there more to check though ill keep on digging...
