    Fire extinguishers.

I have decided to throw one in the trunk of my car. Not because race car....

My reasoning is that in the short time I have been on this forum I have seen more pictures of burning e30's than any car forum I have EVER joined.

    Whats the deal?

This was apparently an E30 as well.

Last year's LeMons South Index Of Effluency Winners, the Tunachuckers '66 Volvo Amazon team, had to come off the track just before the People's Curse began. Things looked bad: seized engine!

And another one. I'm on a roll.

I was never aware of e30s having a burning problem. I always thought it was more a VW thing. Sure all cars can burn but I don't think e30s are that prone to it.

That said, can't hurt to have a fire extinguisher. Sounds like a good idea to me.

It's because no one ever replaces the fuel lines in the engine bay so they burst and catch fire.

They catch on fire just like Ferraris do. Therefore e30 = Ferrari.

If you're that concerned, I advise you to put it in the cabin somewhere and not in the trunk.

saw a vert cooking one day in a parking lot on the way to lunch. Fire extinguisher seems like a good idea.

I'm not that concerned really, just thought it would be a fun thread to see how many burning shots we can come up with.

I really will be putting one in the trunk though, since my car doesn't lock it will always be easy to get to.

Oh it definitely is a VW thing too, coil packs ftl. I've seen a brand new Phaeton come back to the dealer after catching fire from a coil pack.

ALL cars will catch fire if they have been neglected, oil leaks on hot exhaust, fuel leaks on hot exhaust ect ect, just maintain your car replace leaking gaskets/lines and you wont have to worry about it
