Moved to Baltimore, we're both having trouble adjusting

When I say both, I mean both me and the e30.

I moved over here first week of september. Im going to Lincoln Tech in columbia for automotive training. They also have a STEP garage next door which is my goal.

My car has well over 380,000 miles on it now with the stock bottom end and I'm sure most of you know my mods. Anyways, since I've been down here I've had a wheel bearing go, my tie rods are loose, my halfshaft is clicking, the suspension is taking a hit, the valves are clicking pretty badly, and my rear tires are wearing horribly from the highway driving. How many people drive modded e30s in busy towns? This is a real change for me and I'm not sure my car is cut out for it. Back home is another story and I could get away with all this.

The motor doesnt bother me too much, but it is making some more noise. It is still very tight, doesnt burn oil, and runs incredibly strong. I do have to pull the head again and will probably run a 264 cam instead of my 274 which is pretty much shot (causing valve click). It is too much for the street down here. The spark doesnt seem sufficient for the current idle mix (very rich due to low idle signal, and longer duration) The car itself just feels tired. I was considering getting a beater for down here like a 318i, but not sure what to do. Anyways, [end rant] its new for me, so I'm getting used to it.

I used to live in Colorado with a girl..... no, a woman.....from Bal'imore (as she pronounced it). Man I miss her.

    Sorry 'bout your troubles.

Having a dropped car at USC sucks. The End.
The BMW 318 is back. With a vengeance.

On the other hand welcome to the East coast, I'm about 4 hours south of you in VA. Hope baltimore treats ya well.

Buy a bone stock Honda Accord vintage 89 and drive it into the ground over the next two years. Baltimore's roads are worse than Philly's.

Woohoo.. fun. I actually live about 80 miles from my apartment. My daily commute is only about 15 miles one way to school. The messed up thing is that I dont think I'll be able to work on my car much at this school. I suppose thats how it goes.

So where exactly are you now? I'll come visit.

I drove through D.C. everyday for the summer. I am used to it I guess, and I haven't had problems with things breaking at all...everything is doing fine, minus my rear camber, which could be better. Yea its bumpy, but the car stands up to it fine.

I'll come visit you, let me know where you are located!
                Reminiscing...

The streets here at school fucking suck. Im not sure what kind of direction I want to go with suspension. Some conservative coils probably. Height ajust is king.

                    I bombed Korea every night.

I live in Randallstown, Off of Rolling Road by Security Blvd. Mikey is about 20 minute drive with no traffic, and Ive got another buddy about 15 minutes away. Im going back home next weekend to do the valves again, rotate tires, and check everything out. Hopefully it will be okay, I've got 14 more months to go and if I get into STEP, another 6.
