          That is screwed up. First off, an e36 M3 body is identical to a regular e36 body as far as the shell. Also, as far as I know, there was no automatic manual then for BMW. So, as far as I can tell, there is a lot of lying there.

              They did have a manual mode on the 4L30E transmissions on the e36 318-325-328. It was a selector button to the right of the shifter lever.

                  they made the 4dr m3 in 1997 and 1998 until now when the did it again .
                  It is just shady to make it sound like its a m3 in there title .If they said 1992 e36 with m3 mods upgrades its cool.Its just like having a 535 series and saying its a m5 when it is not.

                      There is an manual option on auto's, but it's not like a smg style.

                                                  It bugs me when people try to pull the wool over some ones eyes and sell a car for something it is not.You know that is what he is doing .If he was not trying to miss lead some one than he could have worded it many different ways and said it is a non m3.

                                                      anyone who cares is going to be searching for m3 or m5 or whatever and will know whether they want to buy his car or not. No one is going to get scammed if that's your concern. If the bodies are identical than him putting "m3 body" makes sense to differentiate it to an enthusiast from an authentic m.
