I could never, and would never add this up. Its staggering how all the little $40 this and $200 thats add up.

Rough ball park on my hideous half assembled mtech1 is about 12k+ and I havent even touched upgrading the drive train or the bodywork/paint.

Will be a 20-30k car whenever it gets done. Worth maybe 7-8. lol

I bought most of my stuff in Euros, but here goes:

    Car-1700 Euro~$2200
    Complete M30B34 swap-1000 Euro~$1300
    Misc Fluids- $90
    Complete Motronic 1.3 Upgrade- $50
    Misc bolts/gaskets/etc- $25

So far I'm at $3665, give or take a bit for the exchange rate. Not too bad I'd say for a clean M30 swapped car. I still have a couple things to get done; some small exhaust stuff and a seized driver door lock.

i should have put a poll in. there seems to be the $0 crowd, 4k, 15k, 20k, and a few 30k+ weird brackets going on.

And its been a daily driver since day one with only about 2 weeks downtime when it was leaking coolant like a salivating dog. $1k DD turned into a $3k Beast DD..

    I freakin love my e30 :3

This thread makes me feel better. Last I checked was like 13k, but it has gone up since then. And I already had the S52 and all mods for my swap, so that isn't even in the total...

    $2700 purchase price
    $300 tow truck + licensing
$1000 fluids, timing belt, water pump, coil, air filter, little stuff.

I figure I'm right about at the 4k-4.2k area.

Just sprung a mysterious oil leak, fuel injector leaks, fuel pump relay won't go, driver's door lock is seized, tires are cracked and old. Hoping to sort all that out for about $1k, if I could get this to daily driver status for 5k then I'd be pretty pleased.

I keep track of my expenses because I like to as part of a holistic enthusiast approach to owning a car.

Honestly it's not that expensive in the long run, and I like it, and it keeps me busy and brings me happiness. We're not talking depreciation on a 2013 Escalade or leasing a 5-series here. It's chump change for a lot of people.

    0$

Everything I do to my car is offset by the profits from selling parts I have after the initial investment of the parts car has been paid off.
