    Goodridge SS line failures

Has anyone else experienced a failure of these lines? I've been working a a big collection of e30's (10), the owner swapped out all of the factory lines with Goodridge, so far 4 of the lines have failed, all the same way; the threads at the chassis end have corroded off and separated leaving the threads still attached to the hard line. I suspect it's because the hard line is steel and the Goodridge fitting is aluminum, they have that dissimilar metal corrosion look to them. He does run the cars in the winter, but none of the failed lines was more than 2 years old.

Seems rather unusual for 4 lines to fail at once, so much so that I'd be looking to see what the guy did wrong (dissimilar metal corrosion seems a little much, but that is my opinion). Has he sent pictures to Goodridge? Seem like that would be a good place to start.

What DOT brake fluid was he using?

The four failures were all on different cars, 3 fronts and 1 rear over the course of the past year. He doesn't run anything but high-end Dot 4 and all of his cars are meticulously maintained. He was yelling at the Goodridge guys on the phone today, they wanted some pictures of the lines so we'll see what happens.
He's switching them all back to stock now, guess I'll be busy for a few days.

Gotcha, that sounds a bit more suspect then. I'd be interested in what Goodridge says.
