Xmas present to myself came today...

    Check these bad boys out...

Sony MDR-V500DJ Studio Monitor Headphones. I've never heard my mp3's so clear in my life. They get rid of all the muddiness that my last ones had, which I thought was just tone from the bass. At first I thought they had not as much bass, but the drivers are twice the size of my last ones, and the sound quality is crazy. 69.99 list, $50 shipped from ebay, brand new. These things are built fucking SOLID too, heavy as hell, put together with screws and everything. No glue, no stupid plastic tabs.

Very cool. 8) I really like your headphones.
I have sony headphone like that but they were only $35. So They suck in comparison to yours. I also stole a set of Labtec headphones from my college last school year..they kick ass and are better than my sonys.(they are prob worth atleast $45)

      Nice closed-air headphones. I'm a fan of the open-air myself...and for that, the Sennheiser HD590's/HD600's 0wn j00!

My mountains are better than yours.

I would have loved to get a set of noise canceling, but they are a little to spendy for my broke ass. Props on the badass headset, Kris! Sehnheiser's are the bomb-dizzle.

i have the same problem you did with your old ones. i bought a $30 pair of big studio headphones, i think they were made by sony, and they sounded so muddy and like you i thought it was just due to the tone of the bass. maybe we bought the same pieces of crap. i was gonna get a new set of $50 Aiwa's, but it looks like i'm gonna do a little more research now

ITs funny how you think you have good or pretty good audio, until you hear something truly amazing that makes you realize what shitty quality stuff you have. Kinda depressing.

                      Try listening to these:

Sennheiser HEV-90's. Currently the most expensive headphone system you can buy. $11,000.

I watched the Ferrari scene in Bad Boys II. Just about busted a nut.
