SAD SAD DAY Storage unit broken into UPDATED!!

Our storage unit in Japan was broken into! Over $9-10k of rare parts and some already promised to members. We went this morning to pick up stuff, but everything was gone. Four others broken into as well, all storage for various car enthusiasts. Someone must have known the contents. No pics as we didn't have our camera. Police are investigating.

We did have insurance though, and payout here are relatively no questions asked and quick.

i work at a storage facility we recently busted some people for trying to break into units,
they have some pretty nifty tools to see whats in your units.
one i very vividly remember was a camera w/LED on a wand hooked up to video equipment so they can look into your unit without even cutting the lock first.
super crazy shit these days.

people who work at storage facilities do not have any clue what you are storing lol.
unless you tell them or they see you moving shit in/out then they would have no idea.
or unless you didn't pay your bills and your shit was about to go to auction, we legally have to inventory it.

I cam off wrong, I didn't mean it was done by owners I meant from what you said before. People that sneak around watch people, use cameras, etc. all that stupid bs.

Thanks guys, but it is bittersweet. Parts included lots of NOS steering wheels(M-tech II, RD Alpina), Footrests from the same companies, and even an uber rare e34 Mtech foot rest.
Doubt is was Japanese, probably one of the many Paks, Thais, or Africans that import parts back to their countries.

Very sorry to hear that. It sucks when you have someone break in and steal your stuff. At least you can definitely get your money back with the insurance, regardless, it still sucks knowing that you have been violated in a way.

Every time we go to our storage unit 1.5hrs away I am afraid of finding this. Luckily we have a indoor unit with cameras everywhere.
