Be patient and keep looking. Welcome and goodluck. So cal is full of good candidates. You might want to check the Regional sections also and a local forum.

What the hell is with everyone saying stuff like this. It took me like 2 months to find my mtech. There for sale everywhere. All over forums/ebay/autotrader etc. There's originals ones, swapped ones, restored ones. If you got your budget in hand, you can find one in less than 2 months if your seriously looking. Don't even sweat getting one thats perfect if you can't afford it, because once you get it you'll want to change so much anyway. I want a mint red c900 turbo 5spd. I shit ton rarer than e30's, bet you I have one by summer.

Anyway excuse rant and welcome. Good luck with search and btw we all want that car pictured!
I want a nice set of smoked MHW's (I know, get it line)

I was very particular with what I wanted.

Some people get lucky and find them sooner.

All that really matters is that in the end we find what we are looking for and are happy with the car.

It took my dad and I almost 4 years to find his e46 m3. I swear to god there wasn't a single one like it for the price in those 4 years. Looked everywhere within a couple hours of where we live.
The first car I ever rode in was an e30

At first a RHD car is cool to show off because nobody else has it, then you realize that you have to learn to drive it and that shifting with your left hand makes you feel like you've had a stroke, then it just becomes 'meh' and you lose weight because drive thru's are inaccessible. I don't have any problem at all driving my rhd E30, but if given the chance I would trade it for a similar model in lhd.

i found my dream e30 tonight!
it had been on craigslist for a while, i kept bothering the guy then he quit txting back or taking calls and the ad dissapeared, figured it sold.

then the other week i was leaving the gym and see this sweet charcoal grey e30 slammed on some bbs rs's, i leave a not on the car asking if its for sale. he txts me, we both realize who each other are.

the deal was, he had 4-5 people a day calling him and he NEVER showed the car to anyone(for me he kept saying "oh next week or this weekend or im busy now"). he decided to keep it. BUT lucky for me he needs money to buy a 335i soon, so i got to check it out tonight for the first time. great respray, mtechI rear valance, early car with late model front bumper. 5 lug conversion with e36 m3 brakes

whats my plan? big power and a cage for this car, as well as refinishing the bbs's

keep an eye out, keep cash ready, be diligent. a lot of people know what they have and if they've put time into wont want to sell.

i told a few people F YOU you can't have it, when trying to sell my last m50 e30, people would show up with cash and i'd say its not for sale anymore.

Well its a full multitude of things...he didn't need the car by any means, so time was absolutely not an issue. And we really only checked sfbay craigslist, so that narrowed it more, and he wanted no convertibles and no 6 speed manuals (but now he really regrets getting smg..), and nothing black. I made sure every car we considered didn't have a SINGLE door ding or any scratches...
