Hey all, I'm on the hunt for my first BMW and I figured I'd formally introduce myself here. I've been big into VW's for a number of years now (few vr6's, mkV GLi etc...) but lately the whole front wheel drive thing is just really getting me down. I'd love to find an e30/36 now so I can have something properly sorted for some auto crosses this summer. I've been reading through the faq's and diy's a lot over the past few days and I'm starting to get excited for what could be an exciting new addition to the driveway. As always, any advice is always appreciated, and I look forward to getting to know this place!

Welcome aboard! Most VW guys (I was one as well) end up here when we "grow up." RWD is like graduation from college. You'll miss the experiences, but you know it's the beginning of the rest of your life.
E30s are a lot more raw than the newer models you are used to driving but the experience is really like no other. Good luck in your search, you have come to the right place.

Depending on the chassis they actually tend to oversteer regardless of being fwd.
