Kamotors New intake kits+ posssible turbo CAI

So guys I've become a wholesaler and can get cheap silicone couplers and s.s and aluminum tubing now and I would like to release a new intake kit for the older BMW's. My new kit would use a silicone duct instead of a accordion style and will be offered in 3" and 3.5" kit. All kits should feature about a 3.75" inlet unlike my current 3" kits. This intake kit should be able to scoop up even more air with the larger duct and will be noticeable louder. I will be doing testing next week on both my Turbo E30 and a friends N/A E30. Installed pictures coming soon.

These new kits will be a satin black ABS plastic w/ built in Rubber outlet to free up a bit of room, these are not carbon fiber like the current but I will continue to offer the CF kits at the same time. This will be an E30 specific kit.

any thoughts or ideas would be greatly appreciated..

I'm in for this, I need an airbox. One question though, MAF equipped cars are recommended to have about 12" give or take of piping in front and after the MAF as to not cause turbulence which messes with the readings, does the filter count as a part of the 12"?

there is no possible way to squeeze even 6" before the Maf on an M20. Your MAF will still operate as its supposed to with a filter like this bolted up. all the Bosch MAFs have the air straighteners on both ends.

Woops meant close to 6, I'm guessing the length doesn't matter as long as it doesn't produce unwanted turbulence. Will be picking one up regardless since an open filter element bothers the daylights out of me.

An outer sock on the filter. I assume this will be able to pull from the highbeam, and bugs are a pain in the ass to get out of a cleanable filter.

What do you think about an ITG foam filter vs a cotton media "cone filter"?
Which type does yours use inside the CF shield?

I only use Cotton gauze filters. I used to sell foam filter but the material does not last long and breaks down after a year or 2 with proper up keep. This new intake should also be a bit louder than the current because of the bigger inlet.

Perfect. Count me in for one. I was hoping youd make one for my 3.5" MAF!

I'd be in for one if they are priced similarly to the current CF one...
