10+ feet of hose and syphon that way of sucking in then turning it down into a large few gallon bucket with a few more standing by depending on how much gas you had in the car.

If you inhale have one hand down a few feet away from the tip and you may be able to feel a little force and put it down in the bucket then.

^It's not even that technical, honestly.

      Or use a pump.

compressed air.... blow it through the hose and pressurize the tank... then hold the hose below the tank.

I'd like to see how this works..... :)

I imagine you're talking about a working FUEL pump, not water pump. This is what I use- the external pump from an early E30- it's got barbed hose fittings on each side, just put a length of hose on each one, and hook up to a 12v power source and it works great. I use an inline fuel filter too, just to help filter out any crud that might be picked up.

A clear hose is the only way to go when siphoning. It enables you to see when the gas starts flowing so you can get your mouth off the hose before the gas gets to you. Which is a good thing.

I've been siphoning gas since I was a kid. lol At least as young as age 5.
