Its kinda fun having a more or less open exhaust that throws fireballs out the tail pipe. My datsun will throw a beach ball sized fire ball out the exhaust if I lift off throttle above 4K rpm. Its great for when someone is tailgating me, especially at night. One lift and suddenly they aren't on my bumper (or lack there of) anymore. I can always tell when I get a good fireball because I can feel it, and the sound has a little bit of a reverberation to the "Pop".
So far I've never been pulled over, even though its a 98.5 dB exhaust at 100 feet. Tunnels are fantastic fun though. I cant run at Laguna Seca most of the time though, that kinda sucks. Sears Point is open however.
The F40 is bitchin, I'd love a single 20 min session on track in one.

I too throw Hadoukens all day in my X, and would scare the shit out of people @ night on the highway with my rear bumper flame throwers. I would literally have people roll up next to me and tell me, "dood there's something wrong with your car, it keeps shooting fire out the exhaust!". Ahhh E-85, 1600cc injectors, Twin in-tank Walbro's with an Open Atmospheric PBV how you spit fire so good! :)Last edited by HR2L; 02-03-2012, 12:33 PM.

My S50'd car shoots flames on occassion. Its straight pipes that dump under the car with no cats, never seen it (dont let anyone drive the car), but all my buddies tell me that its awesome haha.

Knife edged crank, fully balanced, stock connecting rods also fully balanced. Stock cast 0.060 oversized flat top pistons with some sort of Holden Chrome and molly rings (sourced from Australia. Supposedly they seal as well as Total seal rings without the oil consumption.) The head is the real gem of the motor however. Custom built by Dave Rebello of Rebello racing. Fully ported and polished, with a custom 1 off Isky Cam and custom Ferrara stainless steel valves. The intake ports flow 212.5 cfm and the exhaust is 174 cfm. Mikuni 44pHH carbs running 40mm venturis.
As it stands now, I put about 170 hp to the wheels and the car is less than 2000lbs.

If you guys thought rebuilding a BMW S14 was expensive with hard to get parts, you've never tried to rebuild a Nissan U20. The set of pistons that are in my engine were the last set of 0.060 oversized pistons in Nissan's inventory world wide. A set of timing gears, chains, tensioners and guides will run you $1500 in a heartbeat, oil pumps are NLA. That said, they really are fantastic motors. I've spun this thing to 7800 rpm chasing down a BMW 2002 between turns 5 and 6 at Laguna Seca and it keeps on going. I'll say not bad for a street driven motor that I assembled myself.
Here is some in car footage from that weekend. The red Datsun in front of me is my friend Ron Carter. He has run his car at the Corinado festival of speed for the past several years. Its a full race built car, high compression with all the tricks.
At the end of the weekend, I did beat him.

No its no Ferrari F40, but its the most fun car I have ever driven. I don't get to do much vintage racing, but when I do, I make the most of it. This was the first time I had driven Laguna, and it was my first Vintage race. I finished 21st of 58 cars, was one of only 2 street driven cars, and I drove the car down and drove it home after the race. I was the only person at the race to do so. Then I drove it to work the next day.
