    $$ from parting

I have a 90' 325is and im starting to think that parting it out would be the only option. The driver seats would need reupolstering, the rears are good. The engine runs, but not the greatest. Bumpers are shot and unsellable. Dash is good.

Well, with the time and effort required in parting out a car, photographing the parts, listing them on ebay or advertising them here, packaging and shipping the parts, and keeping track of all of that, my vote is not worth it if you are a student or already have a job.

That said, if you can get a premium for all your parts, you could probably get $8k, but that's getting a premium...and taking all the time to do it.

I've never done it, but personally i don't think it would be that hard. I mean it would be worth it because if you part out everything you'd probably get 4-8k where as if you just sold it you get probalby half that.

Could I do something like I strip out the big money stuff, and give the rest to like a salvage yard? With just the big things, how much would I be looking at? How much do you think a salvage yard would give you for a stripped car?
Other than parting how can I get rid of this car?
It has chassis damage so that when you drive the right front tire rubs. Thats on bottles too. Im really lost here. I know I cant sell a car like this. Help me out?

Im trying to get rid of my 1988 325iS and its not going well as i dont have the title and the wreckers told me they will not take the car unless i have the title and key hmm why do they need a key cuz the car doesnt have an Engine,

Second i dont have the title in hand and dont know if the previous owner has it so yeah this just sucks my next option might be the cliffside.

Third i have to call a junkyard and talk to them about the car and if they can take it and crush it.

I think it would be a different story if i had a title on hand.

But just keep in mind that it may be a pain to haul it off.

Yeah, strip out the engine tranny dash gauges good interior parts, windows if in good cond, headlights, taillights, doors, hood, decklid, wheels, brakes, all interior console pieces, sound system, etc, basically leaving the core of the car to haul away. the amount they'd give you for it would probably equal the fee to take it away, so that wouldn't cost you anything.

One more cost: a storage unit to save all teh shit, if you dont have the space.

its a LOT of work.. I did it for a friend and it took over 5 months to get rid of everything from an '88 M3. EVERYTHING was good, and we only got $10,500... I think 8k for an E30 with so-so parts is near impossible.

                  8k Isn't near impossible.
It IS impossible. I won't pay more than 500 for a parts car, because I only get about 1k back.
                  I also undercut EVERYONE.

I've gotten tearing them down to a science. I can have a car pull in, and have the shell taken out in parts to the J-yard in a weekend. Keeping EVERYTHING that isn't a part of just the bare shell.
Plus holding on to the parts until someone needs them, yada yada yada. It's not the prettiest thing to do. And I would NEVER cut apart, or even THINK about cutting into a rust free car. I'd tear it down, and start from scratch.

I've never had a rust free car.
