Thoughts on 1961 Fiat Nuova 500?

There is an interesting old '61 sitting in some grass nearby. It was running when parked 15 years ago. 2 cyl, suicide doors, sunroof. Paints faded, patina'd, some surface rust but not bad. Basically no interior. Needs new sunroof and some glass. Would this be a nightmare to find parts for? Anyone have any first hand experience with these things?

Those are cool little cars and I think they were the most mass produced fiat ever so I can't imagine parts would be to difficult

I had some experiences with them while in Italy, fun cars.

Even new replacement parts might need some "massaging" so not for your typical honda boy, but highly rewarding for those with patience.

I had a Fiat 600, parts were not that common in the US for it and I imagine the 500 was harder to find parts for. It was a DD for a few years, fun car but it was REALLY slow...

I got a ride in a 500 with a 2180 VW race engine with 48 Webers, it was NOT slow!!! :)

Lloyd Mosher campained a vw powered one in the 80's and did pretty well.

A friend of mine built a chassis for his and put in a tunnel ram 350 & tubbed it. Fun, but squirly as hell.

I had another 600 that someone attempted a VW conversion on that I finished up and put a stock 1600 in it and that was about the right HP for it, came with about 25 and 5 went to the fan water pump assy...

I drove one while in Italy and even though it isnt really a fast car at all it is extremely fun to drive (not on interstate). These cars are going for good money here in the states so snatch it if you can it may be the last one you see for a long time.

Skifree, when and where were you in Italy. I was there between 1999 and 2001 in Caserma Ederle, Vicenza

Here you go guys: some pics of the actual car(s).

He wants to sell these both together. The blue one is the 500. The other one is a 600 I think? It doesn't run though, he picked it up for spare parts when he used to race them. What would you guys say was a fair price to pay for these two?

Think it would be fun to buy and re-build. (I would only drive it in the city off main roads)
