    Slight r3v...

Thought it'd never happen to me as I rarely drive the e30...

Long story short, the e30 was hit while parked outside my house this past weekend. The person responsible was driving a Uhaul and to their credit, left a note with contact/insurance info. Apparently they selected the full coverage option when renting the Uhaul.

Since this has never happened to me, how do I make sure that I don't get taken for a ride from the insurance company? I've already called the company and filed a claim. The adjuster should come out within the next 2 days to look at it. I was thinking it'd be a good idea to go on realoem and print out a list of the parts that will definitely need to be replaced.

Lastly, does anyone know how friendly/prompt the insurance that Uhaul uses (Repwest Insurance Co.) is to paying out claims?

    Thanks guys.

    Not a r3v.

    and to answer your question,

Depending on the damage, the Insurance company is probably going to total your car

find a bunch of local e30 listings for cars that are in similar condition as yous, and do not be afraid to say no when they try and lowball you.

Sorry - little confused here, don't ever deal with insurance on a regular basis - if they 'total' the car.. what does that entail. ie what do I get/ end up with?

anyone want to explain what a 'r3v' is then, technically? lol

          Not a R3V. Urbandictionary it

Surprisingly enough the adjuster that came out to my car was an enthusiast. He saw the BMW said "Your blue book is above $3,500 but seeing it in person, it's worth a lot more than that." he cut me a check for what my uninsured motorist would cover ($3,500) and let me keep the car clean title without having to buy it back from them.

Their power allows them to hook you up if they want. Just be cool to them, explain what it's worth, it wouldn't help to have some examples of e30's for sale, and be strong with him. You CAN come out on top, just dont let them own you.

Does it matter that the insurance co. in this case isn't my own, and is instead a company that Uhaul contracts with? My gut is telling me that the insurance company will be stingy, sincerely hope otherwise.

To lose control and crash a BMW E30 3 Series due to driver inexperience and the simplicity of the rear suspension. Also usually due to rain and the driver's cheapness, the tires are bald Nankangs.

              Example:
Peckerwood Jordan r3ved a Jetta in the mountains of WA even though it wasn't a BMW.

Ask any E30 owner, any REAL E30 owner, it don't matter if you r3v it by a scratch or a fire, r3vving is r3vving.

GL with insurance woes OP, they are always a headache.

If lucky, the E36 will die peacefully, in its natural habitat, and be given the prestigious honor of donating its parts to an E30

RepWest sucks ass. I had a u-haul claim once when someone in a uhaul truck hit my parked car. Ordeal went on for months before the asshats over there finally payed.

                    Good luck mang

Insurance will always try to take you for a ride. Don't let them. You're going to have to fight to get what you feel your car is worth. Also, pics.
The first car I ever rode in was an e30
