I broke my key!

Like the title say, i sat on my key and broke it.
i called 2 locks smiths and they dont have or will not have a bmw key blank to cut.

Take your driver's license, proof of title, and VIN to your dealer. They can have one cut, which usually takes about three days.

Yeah, dealer's unfortunately your best bet. They've got the connection from the VIN

Ace hardware has copied E30 keys for me. Like $0.89 each or something cheap.

Most of them cut shitty soft keys that will break again. Best bet it spend the coin and get a NEW dealer key. I did and it was like butter opening the car and starting it, unlike the shitty Ace key the PO gave me.

Also, to note, lots of places won't cut the BMW blanks, as they are steel and hard on the equipment.

Order ignition lock and key from dealer by VIN. Copies are only good 5 times copied.

Stuff isn't that expensive...shit, I'm cheap as hell and order dealer keys.

i pulled my rear trunk lock assembly. 2 bolts. Then took it to a locksmith. Say what you will about the wafers being different. It work like a charm temporarily while another key was ordered.
