gauge cluster type?

How do i tell what kind i have? I know there's the motometer and the VDO ones. Mine says MotoMeter on the plastic face between the Odometer and Spedometer? Does that mean i have the Motometer cluster or do i need to pull it and look at the gauges themselvs? Thanks

Unless someone before you pulled a frankenstein on your gauge cluster (which is highly unlikely) you have a Motometer cluster.

Although, since you have an 89, that's makes me wonder a little. After '88, they all got VDO. Mabe someone swapped a Motometer cluster in.

89's are kind of a toss up, ESPICALLY early production ones like mine. Ive got pop out windows, and the long type of temp sensor and a whole list of oddball things.

not sure at the moment...i'm at school so my car is parked with the car cover on. Are the outside temp. sensors in the air ducts next to the foglights like e36's?

89's have popouts...

vdo and motometer stuff is interchangeable as far as my dealings... just make sure its not components from one of those early clusters that dont have the coding plugs in front.
