    Thanks everybody! I had no luck with my own googling but that last link worked great. I was really hoping to find out what dealership it was first purchased at but the history began when it several years. That's not a complaint by any stretch. I'm stoked to know what I now know. Oh by the way it worked for my motorcycle too but the history for it too picked up in '96. Of course it too is an 80s BMW.
