A couple weeks afte rowning my car I was driving down the highway with the top down. I see a late 60's fastback mustang (in really good shape) coming up in my rear view. As I turn to give him the thumbs up, he already is giving my a thumbs up and yelled "Nice car!"... I thought that was friggin awesome

All the time. So much so that most of the time I kinda expect it. Then I go through a period where there are less complments cause its in the garage. LOL...
Just this morning I hop out in front of the coffee roaster feeling like a Rock Star and some younger dude walks in front of me and says , Thats CLEEEEEEEEEEAN! I was caught in a trance for a moment and was not even aware that he was referring to my vert. I then said in a surprised fashion , "well, yeah" . I must have come off as a dick thinking back in retrospect, but sometimes I honestly dont know how to reply when someone displays true admiration.
Makes me feel a bit uncomfortable and as such my replies must convey that.
Im getting better with my replies and its coming easier with practice I must admit.

Yea I know that feeling. Especially when they catch you off guard. I wonder if people stare mostly and don't say anything is because I'm..... Wait for it....... Black....?
Seriously I think it intimidates some older folks. Even though I don't dress in baggy clothes and I talk like I have common sense. I'm probably one of the nicest people theyll ever meet.
The other week in academy an older lady seriously almost jumped on top of a short display and kept repeating sorry because we were walking by in the same aisle. There was more than enough room. All I said was how are you doing and she freaked out. :crazy:DENY IGNORANCE!

I had a guy about mid 30's tell me that I should fix my suspension because it will ruin my tires. I told him I purposely have my car that low on coilovers (when I said that he had a dumbfounded look on his face) and my wheels cambered purposely as well. He was driving an old honda accord with more rattles than any e30 I have ever owned.
And in my buddies e30 slammed on type a's as well had an old guy tell him his wheels were going to fall off and he should get it checked.

An old man once said on a gas station: "Those are some wheels!".
Other than that I get compliments by familiy members or friends, for how clean the car is considering its age.
But I guess that compliment goes to any E30 enthusiast here.
Other than that I got compliments by other car enthusiasts I met on gas stations.

Last week as I was leaving out of the starbux parking lot, I stopped to let an absolutely gorgeous Aston Martin DB come in. As he was passing by I gave him the obligatory Waynes World "we're not worthy" worship sign, he shook his finger at me and did it back to me while giving me a thumbs up. Put me on cloud 9!
