hi there e30 world. im presently searching for my first e30 and i found some prospects, and they are as listed with not so good issues:
1. 1990 325i 2door sedan
- some dents on the hood and left panel
- hood does not hold up open
- lower fog light was damage by something that it hit in the road, and is a little bent inside
- the manual crank sunroof is stuck plus the ceiling head liner is torn on the sunroof.
- seatbelt part on the driver seat is damage
- air con recirculating air button does not hold when pushed inside, but functions when held by finger
- crack dash
- seats fall when incline are to be adjusted on both seats.
- odometer stuck
- side mirror control not working
- gear lever release button useless
- dent on the lower valance at rear
2. 1990 325i convertible
- manual top with patched up work done and clouded up rear screen
- trunk does not hold up
- hand brake lever button displaced
- erratic driver side window
- needs signal lights
- a couple of light are turned on on the overhead console like coolant etc
- glove compartment in passengers side not mounted
- stuck odometer
- the brakes tend to trigger when between 5 mph to 0 when applying brakes
- cracked dash
- lacks something on the overhead probably courtesy light
- steering wheel not centered obvious when driving straight
both cars are black on blacks, automatic, bottle cap rims, clean titles, non operational registration, original paint.
test driven both cars, and they are GREAT! fires right up, idles right, lots of power, no hesitation, tranny shifts wonderfully, suspension is good.
2dr sedan has fairly new tires. vert has heated seats, aftermarket radio, and was recently serviced with new cooling system.
timing belt was replaced on 2008 for the sedan and sept 2011 for vert.
the vert runs a little smoother than the sedan, maybe due to the recent attention given to it.
both cars have been seating a while since owner is presently not in the country.
cars are being sold $2000 each OR $3500 both.
everything being said, i would like to know if it would cost an arm and a leg to make this a daily driver in better condition to what it is right now? im planning to get both since my brother will be driving the other one. but we dont mind sharing one car because his school and my work place are near to each other.
i hope you can help me decide, and would love to hear any input be it good or bad. sorry no pics yet and sorry for the long post.
i wanna get over this e30 itch, i had it since 1999 lol
drive in good health!
