Driving high makes you unfocused. That basically sums up why its dangerous. You may not see something you need to react to (someone jumping into your lane going 30 mph slower than you for example) in time.

I read an article where it said that Holland's rate of road accidents went down after marijuana was legalized. It was something along those lines but I'm sure that's exactly what it was.

I had a pot habit many years ago. I drove for a living. I was not dangerous but on the other hand it didnt help.

I personally believe it contributed to tickets.

Yea i thought the same thing after seeing the first picture. Just a bruise on his head. Rediculous . I didnt think it would be that destroyed.

The main reason i think he lived , he always wore his seatbelt no matter what.

I've driven under the influence of way too many things, I was a wild kid.. The only thing that impairs your worse than being drunk is a heavy dose of LSD or a large dose of mushrooms.

I would never suggest driving under the influence of anything, however I can say that driving high impairs you less than any other substance. In fact I've found people tend to be much more paranoid and alert when driving high, usually making them much better, but boring, drivers.

Hope your friend learns from his mistakes.

I had a high school friend many years ago that was a drinking buddy loose his life slamming his motorcycle into a freeway underpass after leaving a party. He fought with everyone to get the keys to his motorcycle as people could see he was shitfaced.

I still think about that at times and it would be nice if things were different. We can make positive changes in peoples lives. Perhaps its worth a try?

If im drunk and really really need to go somewhere/do something. I always

a) walk
b) cab
c) demand a ride from sober friend
d) drink more and blow off whatever it was i needed to do
