    Stomp Test?

I've figured my check lights been on long enough and that i should do this "stomp test" for engine codes. But how do you do it? I looked in both engine sub forums and general technically and cant find it. I may just be dumb, but if someone could kindly help me I'd be grateful.

So if your car is an 87 do you need to have a dealer check or what?

Only the 173 DME (and later) as found on 1988 and later 325i/is/ic cars support the stomp test. Prior to that a diagnostic system is required to recover fault codes from the DME. On the cars that support the stomp test, the idle and WOT switches in the TPS must be working.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.
