    different size of a fuel tank

    My 318 has a 55liter fuel tank
    so, I was wondering if it's possible to install a 63liter tank ?
    or is it possibile to install that 63liter tank on a '84 323i

    Yes, you'll have to do a litte wiring to get the dual pumps of the larger tank to work with the smaller tank. The larger tanks has both pumps in the tank where as the smaller uses a transfer pump in the tank and the external pump.

      the wiring is extremely simple, the fuel level senders are wired in series. You have to cut off the mount for the 55L tank's fuel filter, and find a way to mount the new one as there is no mount for it now. It bolts straight in, but make sure you have the right hoses going to the right places. Run the extra wires you need before installing the gas tank.
      You'll also need the fuel gauge itself for the 63L tank. The ETK lists one part number for all e30 fuel gauges, though they truly are different.
      The swap can be done in one day without much trouble.
