What ever rubber hose that is leaking would be a cheaper fix then running water.

I know someone who used strait water in his E30, and it would boil over. Plus all of the water jackets in your block will corrode, ask Pantless Spency about the hell he's going through.

Plus possibility of overheating. And if it gets below 32 Degrees your block can crack.

    fix yer shit man
    DISTILLED water only punk,
trust me i have seen the worst of cooling systems after years of hose water rich with minerals and calcium chloride....

right now in my e21 (tractor) i am running distilled water, half a bottle of water wetter, and 4 or 5 cups of coolant.

if i lived in a warmer environment i would just use DISTILLED water and water wetter.

distilled water can be found at safeway, arrowhead makes it in those 2.5 gallon jugs.

    Classic R3V thread.

Find the problem with your car and fix it!

Fixing the problem would be better, but yes. You can run just water as a short term solution. Always keep in mind that 50/50 coolant mix offers you a higher boiling point, water pump lubrication, and corrosion prevention properties.

    Water instead of Coolant?

Is it ok to use water instead of coolant?

I have a slow coolant leak somewhere and I'm having to refill it every couple of days.

I was told I could use water instead so I don't go broke.

Is it ok to use water temporarily?
Working...
