    e23s?

I have have to say, ever since I got the e30 I've done quite a bit of people hauling. All my friends are tall athletic types and have to cram to get into my coupe. Even the back set is cramped for a couple girls. I was at bimmerfest and saw an e23 with that was so roomy and had the back seat of a couch and I have wanted one ever since. I recently found a 87 735i for sale local for 1200 obo. Its "rust free" and has 110K supposed miles on it. It cranks but does not run. Seller claims it is the coil or ecu. I have a spare coil and a 0 261 200 150 ecu from a e32 735i. Pretty sure the ecu won't fit though. Anyone dd an e23? There's quite a few people that have e28s on here but I have seen maybe one or two people here that have an e23 if any. Do they have any common issues/less reliable than say a 535i? There also is a e28 535i that is local as well that I'm prolly going to take a look at.

pick up a cheap e39- same size, and a bit newer. I had an E23 about 10 years ago, and didn't like it, everything worked when it felt like it.
If you want a piece of crap to dump tons of cash into, just pick up an E65 with a V8!

            Damn, that's a nice 745 right there.

Most E23's are a bit beat by now. If you can, look for a 4 or 5 speed car. 733s can be a little more difficult to work on due to the age, but there are a few nice ones around. Don't expect good economy. Also, the E32 and E23 ECUs are different-the e23 is an M30b34 and the e32 is an M30b35 iirc. HVAC systems are a nightmare.

Meaning the A/C will go out when you and your large friends are in the car, causing a hot n' steamy situation 'm sure none of you will forget.

I cut the A/C belt on my car for just this purpose. ;)

Buddy has a nice 85 735i 5 spd. Nice people hauler but as mentioned the HVAC and electricals can be very finicky.

With NA spec bumpers they are hideous to look at. Nice Zender spoiler for the front end helps.
