    E30 318is Chassis for sale $300?

So there is a E30 318is chassis for sale $300

As some of you may know my car has a tear in the shock tower and requires welding and realigning. This may cost me 1-1.5k to get done. As I want to start a ground up project.

So I have my chassis that will need a work but is a genuine slicktop and all vin codes match. Or this chassis which is just about ready for paint but is not a slicktop and codes will not match.

What do you guys think. The only other down side I can see is trying to get the chassis registered again. I will have to rebuild it stock then tear it down and build up what I want.

How bad is the tear on your shock tower? I had hairline cracks on my e36 and was welded and painted for $50. Seems like you can do a better deal on a shell. Somewhere around $500 with interior and all

Not bad but it is about 2-3 deg out of line. That is where the money is on re-aligning. Ill probably go check this chassis out if there is no rust and all is good I will probably jump on it. But I don't really want to mix and match my car when it is still all original.

I agree...1.5k sounds steep, im all for doing things right and generally good work = more money...but that seems quite on the high side.

Sucks with your guys rules and regulations, i know a lot of people who want to build cars having issues with the rules down there, i find most of them are simply unnecessary and ridiculous.

One friend in particular who owns a superbird...they told him the aluminum wing could cause decapitation and he would either have to run the car with no wing (an absolute absurdity due to the cars importance and history) or he had to design a wing that would break away in the event someone was hit by the wing. Its insane!

Yeh it is somewhat steep ill have to ponder more. Just chassis like chassis like this do not come by very often in AUS.
