Maybe if he was writing a story about an E30 M3 and it appeared in his driveway, but when he drove it, it made him rob banks, murder prostitutes, and do tons of blow. Just to wake up at home with no memory.

Oh man, the casting is totally wrong. Such a airy-fairy artiste wouldn't have bothered spending the extra lentil/cider money to get a 325i. The vert bit is understandable (temporary delusions of dating supermodels), but going for the biggest engined model is "like sooo cliched alpha-male". He'd be in a 318i or, at maximum, 320i auto.
